Born at Dumfries, Scotland, 1944. Ronald studied art at Kings College, Newcastle-on-Tyne, and College of Art, Dumfries. He has had work exhibited in Otterburn Gallery, Dumfries. Dumfries and Galloway Fine Art Society, Gracefield Art Centre, Dumfries, The Gallery, Robert Burns Centre, Dumfries. Cristiensen's, Tynemouth. Globe Gallery, Tynemouth. Nile Street Cafe Gallery, North Shields and Gallery 75, North Shields.

He has had work commissioned and exhibited in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.

He has done illustrations for Jeff Thompsons Marketing & P.R. Dumfries and private collections including Brocklehurst Estates, Dumfries, Sir Alexander Galbraith and Mr. H.G. Mc Kerrow.

Ronald Owen Fisher has travelled extensively, but now lives in Dumfries and Galloway, a largely un-spoilt rural area which provides him with much of his inspiration and subject matter. He specialises painting wild life in a natural setting. Fisher's paintings show intricate attention to detail and texture, as well as the play of light and shade. To him, the setting, be it the flatlands of the Solway Firth or the bracken hillsides of the Southern Uplands, is as important as the animals, giving an authentic understanding of habitat and season. Ronald has worked in other mediums but he feels oils give him the power and control of the subject matter that he requires.
